Smaller Than Life

Just as I was about to take a shot of the flower, this grasshopper landed. It is fully grown and a species that only gets to about 1cm at max. From a set done on the Wild Coast of South Africa. There is so much natural beauty around but on this day I decided to focus on the smaller things amongst the lush forest growth. I crawled around under leaves and branches looking for shots. I used a Tamron 14-70mm f2.8 which was fantatic, as many times the light was quite low in between the foliage

@Nazzareno: Thank you. Was using a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 - not the greatest macro lens - battled a little with autofocus so switched to manual

@Captain Guildive Ajoupa: Thank you. I was on a trail up a mountain to get shots of a waterfall and came across this cluster of them - beautiful

Delicate looking the flower becomes a refuge, a home for the visitor, the background
becomes a beautiful mirage !
